Wolves' lively summer shopping spree is reportedly shifting its focus to a swift-dribbling whiz.

On the heels of luring a slew of signings to the Molineux coinciding with the club's Premier League return, Nuno Espirito Santo's side is set to break its own transfer record with a move for Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore.

Talks between the two parties have begun, with the Telegraph's John Percy reporting that Wolves are looking to trigger Traore's release clause with a club-record £18-million bid, exceeding the £15 million tabled for Ruben Neves' permanent move to the West Midlands. According to Percy, Wolves' initial £12-million offer was rejected by Middlesbrough. Former club Aston Villa would see a £3.6-million payout for the transfer.

Traore, 22, has spent the last two seasons at the Riverside following a spell of the same duration with Villa. Noted for his dizzying dribbling skills and marauding pace, the Spain Under-21 international emerged from Barcelona's famed La Masia academy. Traore went on to make a lone senior appearance for La Blaugrana.
