Barcelona delete confirmation of Suarez's move to Arsenal
Unai Emery has gotten his man, or at least it appears that way.
Denis Suarez looks set to rejoin former tutor Emery at Arsenal, with Barcelona announcing Wednesday that the 25-year-old signed a loan deal featuring a club option to purchase the player at season's end.
Shortly after Barcelona posted their statement online, the announcement was pulled, and Arsenal have yet to comment on the signing. For now, it appears that Suarez's move to north London hangs in the balance.
The Premier League club will pay the Spaniard's salary for the remainder of the season.
Suarez also penned a new deal in the Catalan capital, extending his current terms through 2021.
The midfielder was surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou under Ernesto Valverde this season with just two league appearances off the bench. Suarez worked with Emery at Sevilla during the 2014-15 campaign.
