Report: Everton engaged in talks with Napoli for midfielder Allan
Napoli midfielder Allan could be set for a reunion with former tutor Carlo Ancelotti.
Everton are reportedly in discussions with Napoli for the services of the Brazilian international, though the two sides remain €10 million apart on the 29-year-old's valuation, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.
The Toffees are understood to have tabled a €25-million bid for Allan, while Napoli have requested a €35-million fee for the player who has three years left on his current deal with the 2020 Coppa Italia winners.
Allan, who played under current Everton boss Ancelotti at the Stadio San Paolo, has been linked with an exit following a five-season stretch at Napoli where the Vasco da Gama product made 212 appearances in all competitions.
The central midfielder appeared in 23 Serie A games this season - his lowest haul with Napoli. A series of minor injuries and the January additions of Diego Demme and Stanislav Lobotka made him surplus to requirements in Gennaro Gattuso's squad.
According to Romano, Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is also on Everton's list of potential upgrades amid reports the Hornets are looking to shop the Frenchman following relegation to the Championship.
