Report: Newcastle to sign Bournemouth's Wilson, Norwich's Lewis
Newcastle United are slated to make two significant first-team additions in the form of Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson and Norwich City left-back Jamal Lewis, according to the Guardian's Ben Fisher.
The Magpies reportedly submitted a £20-million bid for Wilson and a £13.5-million offer for Lewis.
Aston Villa withdrew a similar bid for Wilson after the 28-year-old said he preferred a move to St. James' Park. He'll now discuss personal terms with Newcastle.
Wilson makes the move hoping a return to top-flight football will improve his chances of making Gareth Southgate's England team for Euro 2020 next summer, according to Fisher.
Northern Ireland international Lewis, 22, is set to make the Tyneside switch after a failed £10-million overture from Liverpool during the winter window, Fisher reports. Liverpool signed Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos instead.
Newcastle are also reportedly close to securing a free transfer for Scottish winger Ryan Fraser, who refused to sign a new deal with Bournemouth. The Magpies have also been linked with a loan move for Arsenal central defender Rob Holding.
