Report: Tel changes his mind, signs off on Tottenham loan move
Mathys Tel seemingly had a change of heart.
The French forward is joining Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day after the Premier League side and Bayern Munich agreed to a loan until season's end, reports transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The deal doesn't include a purchase option, and Tottenham will cover Tel's full salary, Romano adds.
It was reported last week that the 19-year-old rejected a move to Spurs after the two clubs had come to an agreement on a €60-million permanent transfer, but Tel has now opened up to the idea of playing for the north London outfit.
Manchester United and Chelsea both expressed interest in the teenager in recent weeks, and Tel appeared to be holding out for one of those clubs, but neither move materialized.
Tel, Bayern Munich's youngest-ever scorer, has made 83 appearances for the German club, scoring 16 times.
He'll immediately help a Tottenham side that's been hammered by injuries and sits 14th in the Premier League.
