Last season, following an injury-riddled first half, Sanogo was loaned to Crystal Palace, where he made 10 appearances, failing to score a goal.
Former Arsenal star Dennis Bergkamp is an assistant manager to fellow Dutch legend Frank de Boer at Ajax, and their wealth of expertise should help Sanogo develop his talents anticipating a return to the North London club at season's end. Former Gunner Marc Overmars is also a member of the Ajax staff as director of football.
"I am sure it will be good for Ajax and he has an opportunity to play in the Champions League and that's vital for his experience," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said, "Dennis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars work there and we have a good relationship with them.
Sanago, who has made 20 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring once, was signed from Auxerre in July 2013 based on a string of dynamic goal-scoring performances for both club and France's Under-21 program.
Hopes are Sanogo's time in the Eredivisie will help him regain the form that saw him sign with Arsenal.
