VIDEO: Chuba Akpom steamrolls ref with lumbering tackle
Arsenal's on-loan striker Chuba Akpom saw Abel Hernandez level matters Saturday at Hillsborough and attempted to one-up his teammate, much to the dismay of referee Keith Stroud.
Akpom's attempt to clear a ball from the edge of the Hull City penalty area was obstructed by Stroud, who got the worse of the clattering, crumpling to the pitch like a bag of empty pie tins before being treated by medics.
The wounded whistle-blower was replaced by fourth official Darren Dandley for the match's final minutes, as the Tigers and Sheffield Wednesday shared the spoils of a 1-1 draw, keeping both sides within striking distance of the four Championship playoff spots.
