Everton winger Aiden McGeady has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old Scottish-born Ireland international arrives at Hillsborough at an ideal time, as Wednesday sit seventh in the Championship table, one point adrift of Birmingham City and a coveted playoff position.
"I'm very happy to bring McGeady here, he has extra quality and I know him very well. He will help us absolutely sure," Owls gaffer Carlos Carvahal said Monday.
Injuries have scuppered McGeady's efforts this season, and with only one League Cup appearance for the Toffees against Barnsley where he was substituted at the half.
McGeady's father, John, was also a professional footballer, plying his trade for Wednesday's city rival Sheffield United in the 1970s.
