The Bundesliga champs confirmed they've reached a basic agreement with Barcelona, with Coutinho set to travel to Munich for a medical in the coming days.
"I can confirm that (club chairman) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and I were in Barcelona this week and reached (an) agreement with FC Barcelona, the player, and his management," Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said following Friday's 2-2 draw with Hertha. "The talks were very good and I'd also like to thank FC Barcelona for that.
"Obviously, we still have to finalize a few details, but we're delighted to be bringing this player to FC Bayern."
