Vidal completes Inter Milan move, reunites with Conte
Arturo Vidal and Antonio Conte are back together again.
The Chilean midfielder completed his move to Inter Milan on Tuesday, joining the Nerazzurri from Barcelona for a €1-million fee.
In making the switch, the 33-year-old reunites with Conte, who coached him at Juventus; Vidal won the Serie A title in each of his four seasons with Juve before moving to Bayern Munich and, eventually, Barcelona.
"From today, Vidal will be on the front line for the Nerazzurri, with the same objectives as ever: fighting, giving it his all, and winning," the club said in a statement.
Vidal reportedly inked a two-year contract with Inter, who are looking to capture the Scudetto for the first time since 2010.
The veteran was among several players made available by Barcelona during the summer transfer window as the Catalan club looks to rebuild after a disappointing campaign.
Barca captain Lionel Messi paid tribute to Vidal in a post on Instagram on Sunday.
"I only knew you from playing against you and I always thought you were a phenomenon but after being lucky enough to get to know you personally you surprised me even more," he wrote, as translated by ESPN.
"We shared many things in the last two years and you made a huge impact on the dressing room and will be dearly missed. I wish you all the best luck in your new club and I'm sure our paths will cross again."
Vidal will compete for playing time at the San Siro this season with the likes of Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, and Stefano Sensi, among others.
