USA Basketball appears to have taken the next step to solve its issues at point guard, as sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports the organization has promoted Sacramento Kings star De'Aaron Fox to the roster from the Select Team.
Haynes adds that Fox has a strong chance at sticking with the team for the FIBA World Cup at the end of the month.
Kemba Walker is currently Team USA's only healthy point guard. Kyle Lowry is also on the roster, but the Raptors star is recovering from offseason thumb surgery.
Fox is coming off a standout sophomore campaign with the Kings, as he averaged 17.3 points and 7.3 assists while improving his 3-point shooting percentage from 30.7 to 37.1.
