Charles Leclerc: Tops FP1 at Imola

Leclerc topped the timesheets during the opening practice session of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend, with the Monegasque leading the way from George Russell and Carlos Sainz in a busy hour on track, Formula1.com reports.

It was no surprise to see the Ferrari's turn in a strong FP1 practice since they were defending their home turf. Leclerc would lead the timing sheets mid-way into the session and even improve upon his lap later with an ultimate time of 1:16.990. He and teammate, Carlos Sainz, would be split at the top around George Russell in his Mercedes. Leclerc looks strong for another podium run this weekend in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
