Cannes' magical French Cup run continued on Tuesday with the fourth-tier outfit securing their place in the semi-finals with a 3-1 win over Guingamp.

In the other all-Ligue 1 quarter-final clash Reims edged Angers 5-3 on penalties after the sides were locked at 1-1 after normal time.

Cannes, who ply their trade in National 2, were two goals up inside the first half an hour thanks to Chafik Abbas and Cedric Goncalves.

Jacques Siwe pulled a goal back for Ligue 2 Guingamp after the restart but Julien Domingues put the tie to bed for Cannes, French Cup champions back in 1932, in the 69th minute.

On Wednesday Stade Briochin, another fourth-tier side punching above their weight, have a fairytale quarter-final date against holders Paris Saint-Germain.
