With a return to the French top flight in the cards, Metz has signed former Lorient midfielder Yann Jouffre to a two-year deal.
Out of contract since his deal with Bretons expired in June, Jouffre joins Metz on its return to Ligue 1 after a year in the second tier, the club announced Monday.

Jouffre's Lorraine switch is the end of an eight-year tenure at Lorient, where the 31-year old made 202 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Merlus.
Metz kicks off its return to the top flight when it hosts Lille at Stade Saint-Symphorien on Aug. 13.
