Report: Monaco denies interest in Jose Mourinho
With a string of dismal results generating speculation about Jose Mourinho's future at Chelsea, Ligue 1 side Monaco has denied reports that the club made an approach for the gaffer.
A slew of newspaper reports Wednesday claimed that Monaco shareholder Alessandro Proto has met with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich with an interest in buying out the mercurial Portuguese manager's contract.
Monaco has denied all speculation, claiming that Proto is a minority shareholder, according to a report from Sky Sports.
A tweet from the club's official Twitter account substantiates those claims:
AS Monaco would invite the media to not repeat extravagant and unsubstantiated rumors from a « supposedly minority shareholder. » #THX

Monaco's current boss, Leonardo Jardim, has been with the club for two seasons, signing a two-year contract with the principality side with a club option for a third.
The Venezuelan coach led Monaco to a third-place finish last year and a Champions League qualifying berth that resulted in a two-legged loss to Valencia, relegating Les Rouges et Blancs to the Europa League.
