In hopes of staving off relegation, Ligue 1 minnow Guingamp has signed striker Mevlut Erding from Hannover on loan.
Erding, 28, joins the Breton side in the January window until the end of the season, Guingamp announced Thursday on its official website.

The Sochaux academy product joins the Ligue 1 side after just 11 appearances with Hannover and no goals for Thomas Schaaf's Die Roten, having started only three times.
Guingamp will not be Erding's first foray into French football, as the 37-time capped Turkish international has enjoyed previous spells with Sochaux, Paris Saint-Germain, Rennes, and Saint-Etienne before moving to the Bundesliga during the summer.
