AC Milan winger Castillejo robbed at gunpoint
AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo said he was robbed by two men at gunpoint Tuesday, losing his watch in the ordeal.
"Everything OK in Milan? Two guys just robbed me with a gun in my face," he wrote in an Instagram story, per ESPN's Andrew Cesare Richardson.
"Anyway, everything is OK. They just took my watch, I'm OK, thank you," he posted in a follow-up message.
The Spaniard was accosted while stopped at a traffic light in his car, according to ESPN.
Castillejo has been in Milan for two years after joining the club from Villarreal in 2018 as part of a deal that saw Carlos Bacca move the other way. He's made 59 appearances since signing with the Rossoneri.
The 25-year-old, who has two assists in 16 Serie A matches this season, will return to the pitch with his Milan teammates Friday for the second leg of the club's Coppa Italia semifinal against Juventus.
Serie A itself is set to resume on June 20.
