The Florida Panthers re-signed forward Jesper Boqvist to a two-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.

His new pact carries an average annual value of $1.5 million, reports TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

"Jesper has proven to be a highly competitive and dynamic forward who can be used in all situations," general manager Bill Zito said in a release. "He fits seamlessly with our group, and we are excited to have him continue his career with the Florida Panthers."

Boqvist was due to become an arbitration-eligible restricted free agent after this season. He signed a one-year, $775,000 deal with the Panthers as an unrestricted free agent in the offseason after he didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Boston Bruins.

The 26-year-old has been a solid bottom-six offensive option during his first year in Florida, picking up 12 goals and 22 points in 59 outings. He needs just one point to match his previous career high, which he set with the New Jersey Devils in 2021-22.

New Jersey selected Boqvist in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft. He's collected 46 goals and 91 points in 295 career games.
