Barcelona unveils purple 2016-17 away kit
In a first for the Catalan giants, Barcelona will wear purple during its trips abroad this season.

The Liga club unveiled its "bold" new 2016-17 away strips Thursday, and continued its self-proclaimed tradition of entering an opponent's stadium in a uniform that "will shock and excite."

"The fusion of the traditional red and blue makes this shirt shocking, but at the same time really linked with our history," captain Andres Iniesta said. "In addition, thanks to the new technology we feel much more agile and fast."

The dark purple colour scheme with vibrant pink trim is a stark contrast to the yellow away tops with vertical red stripes the Liga champions wore last season.

On the back neck rib of the collar "Barca" is knitted into the shirt, while knitted inside the cuffs are the words "Un Crit" on the right, and "Valent" on the left, which together translate from Catalan as "Our Cry is Bold."
