Real Madrid unveils classic home kit, purple away ensemble
Real Madrid unveiled its new home and away kits for the 2016-17 season on Thursday, and both are keeping with tradition - but in very different ways.
The home outfit, unsurprisingly, is an all-white look that has become synonymous with Los Blancos.
"In this campaign, the white of the home kit is combined with the famous Adidas stripes in purple, adding a vibrant retro style similar to the one worn in the 1980s. The design notably features a traditional polo neck with the badge embroidered on the back," read a statement from the club about the new ensemble.
The new away kit, meanwhile, also continues a recent tradition of the capital-based club opting for bold colours with its secondary uniform. After taking the pitch in blue, orange, and pink in recent seasons, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and friends will be adorned in purple this year.

It's nothing if not regal. Fitting for the reigning European king.
Coincidentally - or perhaps not - bitter rival Barcelona also unveiled a purple away uniform on Thursday.
