Sergio Ramos denies rumours of quarrel with Rafa Benitez
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has denied talk of a falling out with manager Rafa Benitez after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid resulted in plenty of finger pointing at the Bernabeu.
Discussing the underwhelming La Liga result on Spanish radio, Benitez didn't shy away from calling out several players, notably centre-back Ramos for his part in conceding a penalty for Atletico's Antoine Griezmann, which was saved by Keylor Navas.
Reporters pressed Ramos the following day about his momentary lapse of judgment.
"We were ahead and we have made mistakes, with the penalty and the goal," Ramos told Marca, courtesy of ESPN FC.
"It was a childish mistake, but I won't lose any sleep over it. Anything that Benitez has to say he can say when he sees me. I'm not concerned or bothered," the 29-year-old Spanish international said.
Speaking to reporters, Ramos appeared unconcerned by conjecture about his relationship with the ex-Liverpool boss, saying, "I always speak with my coaches."
Amid rumours Benitez has bumped heads with several of Madrid's marquee players including James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo, the skipper was quick to refute claims that he too is having issues with the gaffer.
"Don't worry yourselves, everything is very relaxed."
