Koepka, McIlroy, Woods all get morning tee times for Round 1
The opening two rounds of the PGA Championship are set up to feature some fireworks during a loaded morning wave Thursday.
The tournament tee sheet has Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas heading off the 10th tee at 7:53 a.m. ET on Day 1. The high-profile groups continue with four-time champion Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, and Keegan Bradley in the 8:04 a.m. group, leaving Woods plenty of time to recover before his second round at 1:18 p.m. on Friday.
The red-hot Rory McIlroy leads the 8:15 a.m. group off the 10th tee alongside Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose, with the combo of Cameron Smith, Hideki Matsuyama, and Viktor Hovland out 11 minutes later.
Brooks Koepka begins his quest for a fourth PGA Championship alongside Max Homa and Jordan Spieth off the 10th tee at 8:37 a.m. ET on Thursday. That trio then heads out in the afternoon at 2:02 p.m. on Friday off the first tee for their second round.
The afternoon wave sees World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler look to continue his absurd run over the past few months beside last year's final two major winners, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman. The 2:13 tee time marks the first for Scheffler since his first child arrived last week.
Phil Mickelson, Collin Morikawa, and Matthew Fitzpatrick are also featured late with a 1:51 p.m. tee time, while Jon Rahm, Cameron Young, and Rickie Fowler follow at 2:02 p.m.
