Justin Verlander: 'This PED s--t is killing me'
A few minutes after Major League Baseball announced the suspension of Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon for using performance-enhancing substances, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander took to Twitter to vent.
Let's just say he wasn't pleased.
This PED shit is killing me. If u test positive u need to not play. You shouldn't be allowed to effect games while appealing.

Gordon was a factor in Miami's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night, driving home the tying run in the seventh inning to knot the score at 2-2. The Marlins went on to win 5-2, with Gordon finishing 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
The Dee Gordon announcement came tonight because he only just dropped his appeal and wanted to tell his teammates what happened.

With his tweet, Verlander is seemingly referencing the suspension of Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Chris Colabello, who was suspended 80 games last week after he tested positive for an anabolic steroid. Colabello failed a drug test in February during spring training, and was notified in mid-March. He filed an appeal and was with the Blue Jays throughout most of April.
