Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and reported trade target Ryan Braun was a late scratch Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks with right side tightness, the Brewers announced.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis will take his spot in the starting lineup.
Braun was reportedly the subject of preliminary trade talks between the Brewers and San Francisco Giants in June.
The left fielder can only be traded to six teams without his permission, however, due to a limited no-trade clause. They are reportedly the Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, and Washington Nationals.
Braun is slashing .321/.383/.515 with 14 home runs in 85 games this season with the Brewers.
