Mets' Callaway: Lineup gaffe 'probably cost us the game'
Meet the Mets.
On Wednesday, New York submitted a wrong lineup card in its game against the Cincinnati Reds, which potentially cost it a win, according to manager Mickey Callaway.
After an Asdrubal Cabrera double in the game's first inning was erased because of a lineup card snafu in an eventual 2-1 loss to the Reds, Callaway discussed how frustrating of a mistake it was.
"It probably cost us the game. We had a chance to score in the first and we didn't," he told reporters, including Tim Healey of Newsday.

After the gaffe - which also had No. 4 hitter Jay Bruce ruled out without him even stepping to the plate - the Mets could only muster one run and four hits against Reds starter Sal Romano and Cincinnati's bullpen.
So how did such an error occur?
Callaway explained "it was an administrative error" and that one card "is hand-written and one is printed out on a computer." He said the information entered into the computer was wrong and he took full responsibility for the mishap.
"I've got to double check, triple check, and quadruple check what's put on there and what's put on the board.
"I'm responsible for it."
