Raccoon captured inside Dodger Stadium bullpen before Sunday's game
Dodger Stadium had a rather odd pregame intruder Sunday morning.
Several hours before the Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers were set to square off in their series finale, a wild raccoon was discovered camping out inside the Reds' bullpen, according to The Associated Press.
It's not clear how, exactly, the raccoon managed to enter the park while it was presumably closed for the evening.
Fortunately, the situation did not escalate beyond shock, as the Reds had not yet arrived at Chavez Ravine. A quick-thinking stadium worker called animal control, and the visiting mammal was safely removed from the stadium before the game began.
Perhaps the struggling Dodgers might have been able to use the raccoon's bite on Sunday afternoon, as they lost the game 5-3, suffering their first four-game sweep to the Reds since 1976.
