The Oakland Athletics and closer Blake Treinen have agreed on a one-year contract worth $6.4 million through arbitration.
Treinen, who won the case, will earn a $4.25-million raise, which is a record for a second-time arb-eligible player, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Treinen and the A's were separated by $800,000 in their filings, with Oakland reportedly lobbying for their closer to earn $5.6 million next season.
The 30-year-old had a breakout campaign last year following a midseason trade in 2017 from the Washington Nationals. Over 80 1/3 innings in 68 games, the right-hander authored a 0.78 ERA and 1.82 FIP while notching 38 saves.
