Machado is going to be the Padres' home run king by like August 2021.

It would be best for baseball if Machado worked out in Sn Diego, but if you were making percentages where would you put the likelihood he serves the full 10 years with #Padres? I would say no better than 25 pct. I will put the first Machado to #Yankees rumors at in 2021.

The White Sox should have signed Manny Machado's imaginary friend from childhood...or opened their wallets with the best offer. Probably the latter.

Mookie Betts on learning about Machado's deal with the Padres: "There are still a lot of unsigned players, but it's a step in the right direction." Said the deal has no bearing on his future contract negotiations with the Red Sox at this point.

The #Padres estimated payroll this season - before Machado - was about $80 million. Now Machado & Hosmer will earn over $50M a year just by themselves - almost as much as the rest of their roster combined.

Here's my take on the Machado/Padres signing: It'd be pretty weird if there were a sports team in Spain that was called The Dads

Scherzer on Machado: “That’s good for the game. Good for the stars of the game to get signed. And for a face of the game to get a 10-year contract.”
