Los Angeles Angels second baseman Tommy La Stella left Tuesday's game against the Texas Rangers after fouling a ball hard off his right shin in the sixth inning.
La Stella was helped off the field without putting any weight on his right side.
Following the game, La Stella was diagnosed with a right shin contusion. He will have a CT scan and a clinical evaluation on Wednesday, the team announced.
The 30-year-old became an All-Star over the weekend for the first time in his career.
Entering Tuesday's action, he was slashing .304/.356/.500 with 16 home runs over 77 contests. La Stella's previous career high in round-trippers was five in 2017 over 73 games with the Chicago Cubs.
