New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone sounded off Wednesday after Gleyber Torres didn't make the American League All-Star team.

"I think its a joke he's not on that team. Gleyber Torres is not an All-Star? You can kick rocks on that," Boone said, according to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic. "It's ridiculous ... It doesn't seem right to me that he's not on that team."

Torres failed to make the team as a starter via the fan vote and wasn't named a reserve over the weekend. The 22-year-old infielder had another chance with Los Angeles Angels second baseman Tommy La Stella, Minnesota Twins right-hander Jake Odorizzi, and Texas Rangers outfielder/designated hitter Hunter Pence going down with injuries. However, Torres wasn't among the replacements Major League Baseball revealed on Wednesday despite his .907 OPS in 77 games.

On Tuesday, Boone also voiced his displeasure about Torres and teammate Luke Voit missing the Midsummer Classic.

“It’s a bit of a head-scratcher, and hopefully there’s still a way for them to get on because both of those guys are certainly deserving,” Boone told WFAN.

Second baseman DJ LeMahieu and catcher Gary Sanchez will represent the Yankees as starters in Cleveland while closer Aroldis Chapman will pitch out of the bullpen.
