The San Francisco Giants have designated left-hander Derek Holland for assignment, the team announced on Sunday.
Holland, 32, is coming off a strong 2018 campaign with the Giants when he recorded a 3.57 ERA in 171 1/3 innings. However, this year has been a different story, as he's posted a 6.08 FIP in 68 2/3 innings, including seven starts.
The 11-year veteran has also pitched for the Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox.
The Giants also designated infielder Ryder Jones for assignment, optioned left-hander Ty Blach, and selected the contracts of left-hander Conner Menez and infielder Zach Green from Triple-A Sacramento.
