Astros' 2017 World Series ring up for auction
A championship ring from the Houston Astros' controversial 2017 season is available to the highest bidder via Goldin Auctions.
The piece of jewelry belongs to former Astros scout David Brito, according to Matt Young of the Houston Chronicle.
The Astros won their first World Series in franchise history by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games. However, Major League Baseball concluded in January 2020 that the Astros stole signs electronically during the 2017 regular season and postseason. The team's skipper and general manager were suspended and subsequently fired, Houston lost its first- and second-round draft picks in 2020 and 2021, and the Astros were fined $5 million.
The top bid for the ring as of Monday afternoon is $7,000 and it will be up for grabs until mid-May.
