When regular-season baseball returns to Wrigley Field, a select number of fans will be able to watch Chicago Cubs games in person thanks to the rooftops surrounding the stadium.
The City of Chicago approved opening Wrigleyville rooftops at 25% capacity for home games this season, a source told Josh Frydman of WGN News.
Tickets are expected to go on sale when the MLB schedule is released, although they won't be sold for potential exhibition games, Frydman adds.
The news comes one week after Cubs president of business operations Crane Kenney said he expected the rooftops would be open for home games. Kenney also expressed hope that stadium seating would eventually be allowed at a limited capacity, mentioning 8,000 fans as a possibility.
