Royals sign Matt Harvey to minor-league deal

The "Dark Knight" will try to resurrect his baseball career in Missouri.
The Kansas City Royals signed right-hander Matt Harvey to a minor-league contract, the team announced Tuesday.
Harvey's prorated deal with the Royals is for $575,000 and is dependent on if he makes the big-league club, a source told Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com.
The veteran hurler reportedly has performance bonuses, including games started, in his new pact.
Harvey, 31, recorded a 7.09 ERA in 12 starts with the Los Angeles Angles in 2019. The former All-Star owns a career 4.04 ERA across seven seasons with the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, and Angels.
