Eloy Jimenez: Hitting HR vs. Cubs was dream after 'they traded me'

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez hasn't forgotten that the Chicago Cubs traded him to their crosstown rivals in July 2017.

Jimenez, right-hander Dylan Cease, and two prospects were shipped to the White Sox for lefty Jose Quintana in what is now considered by many to be a fairly lopsided deal for the "South Siders."

The 23-year-old slugger's looking forward to playing the Cubs - starting Friday with a three-game series - after belting a go-ahead two-run homer against them in June of last season. He said hitting one against the Cubs wasn't a dream until he was moved to the White Sox.

"After they traded me, oh yeah," Jimenez said Friday when asked about last year's round-tripper, according to James Fegan of The Athletic.

Jimenez added he has the ball, bat, and batting gloves from his homer against the Cubs, noted Chuck Garfien of NBC Sports Chicago.

The player also said he points to his arm after going deep because he's got ice in his veins, added Scott Merkin of MLB.com.
