Cubs acquire Maybin from Tigers for prospect

The Detroit Tigers traded outfielder Cameron Maybin to the Chicago Cubs, the team announced Monday.
Chicago sent infield prospect Zack Short to Detroit in exchange.
Maybin slashed .244/.311/.415 with one homer in 14 contests for the Tigers this season. The 14-year veteran also played for the Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, and New York Yankees.
Short was the No. 21-ranked prospect in the Cubs' system, according to MLB Pipeline.
