Donaldson continues criticism of umpires: 'Tough to watch any game'
Josh Donaldson continued to air his grievances with Major League Baseball umpires on Tuesday.
The Minnesota Twins third baseman was apparently watching Game 2 of the American League Division Series between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays, and he didn't waste the opportunity to criticize the umpires working the contest.
Following that initial tweet, both Donaldson and former MLB player Trevor Plouffe commented on the strike zone and level of accountability umpires face.
The 2015 AL MVP was ejected from a contest on Sept. 17 for kicking dirt on the plate after hitting a home run. Donaldson was upset about a call made earlier in the at-bat and gave a blunt assessment of the umpires.
"At the end of the day, there's no reprimand, no accountability for the guys that are making the decisions," Donaldson said.
He added: "Matter of fact, they don't care, they don't care at all. Most of them. They just want to get the game over with for the most part, and it's pretty sad because guys are making six figures a year, and there's no accountability."
