Dodgers' May to start Game 7 of NLCS

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Dustin May will start Sunday's do-or-die Game 7 of the National League Championship Series against the Atlanta Braves.

May started Game 5 on Friday and lasted two innings.

"Allowing Dustin some clarity on when he's pitching was important," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, according to Eric Stephen of SB Nation. "Knowing which hitters you're going to get for Dustin, the certainty, was kind of a factor."

Roberts added that Tony Gonsolin and Julio Urias are also likely to pitch.

May threw 55 pitches on Friday and will now become the fourth pitcher in postseason history to make a winner-take-all start on one day of rest, according to MLB.com's Sarah Langs.

The 23-year-old owns a 1.35 ERA over 10 innings in the 2020 playoffs after a solid rookie season, during which he started 10 games for the NL West champions.

Roberts also said Clayton Kershaw is available if needed, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.
