Los Angeles Angels pitcher Dylan Bundy was removed from his start against the New York Yankees after vomiting on the field.

The Angels announced Bundy left due to heat exhaustion. The game-time temperature at Yankee Stadium was 90 degrees.

As DJ LeMahieu stepped in to face Bundy in the second inning, the right-hander walked to the back of the mound and began throwing up while sweating profusely. He was immediately tended to by Angels trainers and then left the field. Jose Suarez took over on the mound.

Manager Joe Maddon said postgame that Bundy felt better soon after leaving, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. The skipper added that Bundy wasn't feeling well in the first inning and felt like he was going to be sick before taking the mound in the second.

"This guy is as tough as they come," Maddon said, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

Bundy entered Monday's start sporting a 6.68 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 60 strikeouts across 63 1/3 innings.
