The Detroit Tigers and infielder Jonathan Schoop have agreed to a two-year contract extension, the club announced Saturday.

The deal is worth $15 million and contains an opt-out clause after the 2022 season, reports Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Schoop will make $7.5 million in 2022 and 2023 if he doesn't exercise his opt-out clause, Heyman adds.

The 29-year-old is enjoying his best campaign since making the All-Star team with the Baltimore Orioles in 2017. He entered Sunday's action with a .289/.333/.468 slash line, 18 home runs, and 64 RBIs in 107 games for the Tigers.
