The Atlanta Braves signed right-hander Charlie Morton to a one-year, $20-million extension with a $20-million club option for 2023, the club announced Monday.
Morton owns a 3.47 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 185 strikeouts over 158 innings (28 starts) for the Braves this season.
The two-time All-Star joined the Braves last offseason after two campaigns with the Tampa Bay Rays, which included a trip to the World Series in 2020.
The 37-year-old has also pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, and Houston Astros during his 14-year career.
