The Texas Rangers extended the contract of manager Chris Woodward through the 2023 season with a club option for 2024, the club announced Friday.
"After seeing Woody's passion and consistency first-hand over the last year, extending our partnership is an easy decision. I look forward to continuing our shared commitment to improving the club," Rangers general manager Chris Young said, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News.
Woodward, 45, owns a 160-224 record with the Rangers since becoming their skipper before the 2019 season. His contract was slated to end after 2022 prior to the extension.
