Padres' Melvin says Tatis' motorcycle-riding days are over
San Diego Padres manager Bob Melvin doesn't think Fernando Tatis Jr. will ride motorcycles anymore after the star shortstop fractured his wrist.
"I believe they are," Melvin said Tuesday when asked if Tatis' motorcycle-riding days are over, according to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN. "He's (23) years old - you have some fun. I don't think anything was intentional here, but I think you learn from experiences, and I think this is one to learn from."
It isn't exactly clear how Tatis sustained his wrist injury, which could cause him to miss up to three months if he has surgery. However, he was in a minor motorcycle accident in December and said he felt his wrist flare up about a month ago.
Probably not a great thing, when Fernando Tatis was asked when his motorcycle accident happened, he responded, 'which one.'

The Padres could pursue voiding Tatis' $340-million contract if he sustained the injury during non-baseball activities, but the club isn't expected to take that action, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
Tatis, an NL MVP finalist last season, hit 42 homers with 97 RBIs and 25 stolen bases over 130 games, but he had two stints on the injured list due to left shoulder subluxations. His 2019 rookie campaign was also cut short after 84 contests because of a stress reaction in his back.
