The Cincinnati Reds traded reliever Amir Garrett to the Kansas City Royals for left-handed starter Mike Minor and cash, the Reds announced Wednesday.

The Royals will pick up the $1-million buyout for Minor's $13-million mutual option for 2023, a source Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Kansas City also freed up $8.5 million in the deal, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Cincinnati has now dealt away Sonny Gray, Jesse Winker, Eugenio Suarez, and Garrett since Sunday.

Garrett posted a 6.04 ERA with seven saves over 63 appearances in a down season in 2021. However, the 29-year-old left-hander owns a career 10.5 K/9 and is arbitration eligible through 2023. He's projected to make $2 million this campaign.

Minor, a 2019 All-Star while with the Texas Rangers, authored a 5.05 ERA with 1.24 WHIP and 149 strikeouts across 158 2/3 innings (28 starts) for Kansas City last season.
