Report: MLB investigating Pirates' Castro for having phone during game
Major League Baseball is looking into why Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Rodolfo Castro had a cellphone on him during a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Castro violated an MLB rule that prohibits electronic devices from being on the field or dugout, with the exception being league-approved iPads, Rosenthal notes.
The 23-year-old lost the phone out of his back pocket while sliding into third base:

"I don't think there's any professional ballplayer that would ever go out there with any intentions of taking a cellphone," Castro said postgame, according to The Athletic. "It's horrible it happened to me. Obviously, it was very unintentional."
It's not known yet if Castro will be punished for breaking the rule, Rosenthal reports.
