Ace Kevin Gausman would've started the last game of the regular season Sunday if Toronto needed a victory to clinch. However, he can now be saved for Game 1 of the best-of-three series.
Gausman led arguably baseball's best rotation, which also featured José Berríos, Chris Bassitt, and Yusei Kikuchi. Additionally, the Blue Jays' bullpen is considered one of the best in the majors.
The club's strong pitching helped it overcome a disappointing season by an offence that saw down years from Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, and Matt Chapman.
