Boston Red Sox infielder Trevor Story said Monday that he could make his season debut at some point in July as a designated hitter, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.
Story added his goal is to "play shortstop sometime in August."
The two-time All-Star underwent elbow surgery in January. He was expected to be out four-to-six months.
Story is in the second season of a six-year, $140-million contract. The 30-year-old slashed .238/.303/.434 with 16 home runs, 66 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases over 94 games amid an injury-plagued 2022 campaign.
