Dodgers fan names daughter after Mookie following HR proclamation
A Los Angeles Dodgers fan gave his daughter the middle name Mookie after he told Mookie Betts that he would do so if the superstar outfielder hit a home run during an Aug. 2 game against the Oakland Athletics.
Betts went deep after striking up the conversation with the spectator while he was on deck. The fan then surprised the seven-time All-Star on social media by following through:

"I turned around and told him, 'No, don't do that, man,'" Betts said Tuesday in a video he posted on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter. "'Your wife wouldn't like that.'"

"I can't wait to meet Francesca," Betts added. "That's going to be my girl."
