Report: 4-5 teams showing strong interest in Rays' Glasnow
The trade market for Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Tyler Glasnow appears to be quite strong.
There are four or five serious suitors for Glasnow, a few of whom have already made offers, MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports.
The Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds have reportedly been involved in trade discussions with the Rays for Glasnow this offseason.
Glasnow will earn $25 million in 2024 in the final season of a two-year, $30.325-million extension he signed with the Rays in August 2022.
The Rays have an estimated payroll of $126 million for next season, an increase of nearly $50 million from 2023.
Glasnow spent the last six seasons with the Rays after they acquired him in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 30-year-old made a career-high 21 starts last season, posting a 10-7 record with a 3.53 ERA and 162 strikeouts across 120 innings.
