Report: Dodgers, Rays discussing Glasnow trade
The Los Angeles Dodgers are in trade talks with the Tampa Bay Rays that would result in right-hander Tyler Glasnow heading to the West Coast in a multi-player deal, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
The Rays would also send outfielder Manuel Margot to the Dodgers in exchange for right-hander Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny Deluca, according to Rosenthal.
The deal reportedly isn't finished, and there could still be changes.
Money will likely be exchanged as well, per Rosenthal.
Glasnow made a career-high 21 starts last season, posting a 10-7 record with a 3.53 ERA and 162 strikeouts across 120 innings. He'll earn $25 million in 2024 in his final season under contract.
The 30-year-old has struggled to stay healthy over his career but has tantalizing swing-and-miss stuff on the mound. Glasnow ranked in the 88th percentile for fastball velocity, 95th in whiff percentage, and 97th in strikeout percentage during the 2023 campaign.
Margot went deep four times with 38 RBIs and a .686 OPS in 99 games last season. The eight-year veteran is set to make $10 million in 2024.
Pepiot posted a 2.14 ERA with 0.76 WHIP and 8.1 K/9 over 42 innings in 2023. The 26-year-old isn't arbitration-eligible until 2026.
Deluca, who will make a pre-arbitration salary through 2026, hit two homers with a .740 OPS over 24 contests last season.
